Matt Hulse, Founder & Lead Instructor and Coach

Matt is an Ivy-educated attorney, former BigLaw practitioner, and LSAT expert who brings a uniquely disciplined and results-driven approach to law school preparation.

A 99th-percentile LSAT scorer (175) and 99th-percentile New York Bar Exam performer, Matt has over five years of experience guiding students through the LSAT and law school admissions process. Before founding IvyLawPrep, he taught for a leading national LSAT company and continues to provide pro-bono application consulting to veterans as a Service to Schools J.D. Ambassador.

He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School with honors and his B.A. from Columbia University.

After law school, Matt practiced as a corporate associate at a top BigLaw firm in New York City and now serves as counsel at a top financial services company.

A former Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, Matt brings the same focus, integrity, and leadership to his students that defined his military service. His mission is simple: to help aspiring law students reach their fullest potential—earning admission and scholarships to the nation’s top law schools.

Matt lives in Port Washington, New York, with his wife, baby daughter, and two rescue cats he brought home from the Middle East during his service. When he’s not teaching or practicing law, he enjoys golfing, playing the piano and guitar, and spending every nice day by the beach.
